side up and turning down,
you snuck up on me without making a sound,
forgot to save you a seat or two,
now they're all gone and I always knew,

up and turning side and down,
was not expecting you right now,
your timing's too hard and waiting is tough,
my watch must be slow or not fast enough,

turning sides up and down,
lost direction to where you were found,
ripped this rug out from underneath,
needed to fall before i'd believe,

can you prove me wrong?
if not here then everywhere that i've gone,
can you prove me right?
i'm here for something, i'm here tonight ...

turn me upside down,
no more string from where I was bound,
do you really need my love?
why when you have all the stars above ...
side up and turning down,
you snuck up on me without making a sound,
forgot to save you a seat or two,
now they're all gone but i'll give mine to you.
